Safety First
- Safety first, wear a helmet!
- Auto gates/cattle guards are present on all courses. The metal grate can be “slippery” especially with biking shoes. Use extra caution when you ride or walk your bike across them.
- Cell phone service is good to fair throughout all four course. If you have a medical emergency dial 911.
- Restrooms and Aid stations are available on all courses every 10 to 20 miles.
- Aid Stations will have water and a snack.
- SAG wagon is thought to be an acronym for “support and gear”. This is your “welcome person” and vehicle that rescues you, your bike and what gear you have on board when you can no longer ride due to fatigue, injury of you and/or your bike.
- Check in with us at Packet Pick Up at the end of your ride. We would love to hear about your experience and especially for solo or new riders who want that level of comfort of checking in.
SAG Support
SAG support is provided by volunteers out on the course.
Shuttle Service
Shuttle service is available. How does this work? Shuttles are recommended for the driver only of the vehicle for Full Forty and Thirty Something. Sign up through Bikereg.com. You will arrive in Wall at Packet Pickup location, 511 Glenn Street, then leave your bike inside. Hop in your vehicle and drive to your endpoint to meet the Shuttle. Shuttle will bring you to Wall, the starting point for the mass (or the Covid-19 soft start) start.
You are welcome to bring your favorite designated driver to meet you at the end of your ride.
And for those who want to ride out and back, please do! No shuttle required.
SAG (Support and Gear)
Super SAG Support Technicians (SSST) and volunteers, will be on all courses for SAG support (flat tires, jumped chains, etc).
SAG wagon is thought to be an acronym for “support and gear”. This is your “welcome person” with a vehicle that rescues you, your bike and what gear you have rd when you can no longer ride due to fatigue, injury of you and/or your bike.
FAQs
- E-Bikes are welcome on all courses.
- Entrance fee to Badlands National Park is not needed as the event is held each year on National Public Lands Day.
- Early bird pricing available through September 5th. Register with Bikereg.com
- Family friendly pricing available: $15 for children 14 and under accompanied by their favorite adult.
- Shuttle cost is $10 per person. Shuttle is recommended for the vehicle driver only for Thirty Something and Full Forty.
- Refunds are not given. You may transfer your entry to another person by contacting the event director. If the event is cancelled due to Covid 19 South Dakota State or City of Wall restrictions a refund will be given.
- Registration fee includes swag bag, t-shirt, SAG support, aid station drinks and snacks and any entrance/permit fees.
- Weather is always a surprise. We ride unless the roads to Wall and Badlands National Park are closed due to weather conditions. Gravel Grinders are offered an alternate route if dirt roads are impassable.
- The mission of Wheelin’ to Wall is to raise funds and awareness for safe paths to walk and ride in Wall and Badlands Area. Pedestrian infrastructure connects and weaves people together building a stronger community.
